Fully Electric with Power and Torque

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV comes with an electric motor that delivers 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. In typical EV style, once you step on the accelerator, the Bolt goes. Drivers who aren’t familiar with the workings of an EV will be surprised by the quick acceleration, especially from a dead stop.

Along with the speedy front-wheel-drive electric motor, the Bolt comes with a one-pedal driving mode that activates with the push of a button. When drivers use this mode, regenerative braking charges the battery and slows the car without having to use the brake pedal.

With electric vehicles, the charging time and range matter. The Bolt gets an EPA-estimated 259-mile range from a full charge. The EV comes with a dual-level charging cord for Level 1 and Level 2 charging. When using a Level 2 charger with a 240-volt outlet, the battery gets a boost of 11 kW per hour, filling the battery in seven hours. Buyers can choose to add a DC fast charging to add 100 miles of range in about 30 minutes.

Filled with Safety Features

Chevy included a few standard safety features on the 2022 Bolt. Both trims come standard with Automatic High Beams, Front Pedestrian Detection, a Pedestrian Safety Signal, OnStar, Automatic Emergency Braking, and LED Running Lights. The LT2 comes standard with an HD Surround Vision with an HD Rear Vision Camera. The LT1 comes only with the HD Rear Vision Camera. The LT2 also comes with Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist. The LT2 also comes with Adaptive Cruise Control.

What is HD Surround Vision?

The Bolt EV LT2 comes standard with HD Surround Vision with HD Rear Vision Camera. This feature uses several cameras to capture a digital overhead image of the area around your Bolt. It also uses the HD Rear Vision Camera and a front view to enhance the view.

Drivers can add front and rear dynamic guidelines to help with parking maneuvers or backing out of a tight space. The camera functions at low speeds, so drivers benefit by avoiding nearby objects in parking lots and driveways. The camera offers several additional views for specific driving situations.

Redesigned on the Inside and Outside

For the 2022 model year, Chevy gave the Bolt a facelift in the cabin and on the outside. The new, upscale interior includes high-quality materials and additional soft-touch surfaces. The 8.0-inch fully digital gauge cluster sits behind the flat-bottom steering wheel. Rather than having an electric shifter, the Bolt now has toggles and buttons to activate the electric car.

Drivers and passengers will appreciate the ample interior space with a roomy backseat for two. The front seats have a new design that adds comfort, too. The hatchback has 17 cubic feet of space. When the rear seats are folded, the cubic feet jump to 57.

Choose Cloth or Leather

The Bolt EV comes in two trims, the LT1 and LT2. The base trim, the LT1, comes with standard cloth seats. The only color choice is Jet Black cloth, which is the same color that outfits the redesigned interior spaces. The LT2 comes with perforated leather seating, also in Jet Black, with coordinating trim in the same color.

High-Tech EV for Entertainment and Information on the Road

The Bolt comes with a large touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Like other electric vehicles, the Bolt comes with several EV apps that let you see your battery consumption and remaining range. At this point, Super Cruise is not available on the EV; it is only available on the EUV.
